The British government is set to progress with using the entire amount of seized Russia's funds to aid Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom penalties have blocked over £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow initiated its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, previously, money sent to Ukraine using Russian assets had solely been sourced from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward employing the full value of the frozen Russia's state holdings to halt hostilities.

He noted that further measures over the next period would heighten the tension on the Russian government.

This declaration is subsequent to European Union officials convened in Copenhagen recently to consider employing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use immobilized Russian holdings, according to news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russia's holdings in the European Union is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow launched large-scale missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the incident, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike focused on non-military and power facilities.
