From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
