President Trump Welcomes Relatives of Attacked Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

White House Call

The president said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community Reaction

Attendees came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist policing efforts in DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event led the administration to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
