Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
