Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a announcement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
